Artists from the Espoo Art Lending Service have monthly art installations in the lobby of Comfort Hotel Sello, located in the Sello Shopping Centre. The featured artist for January 2026 is Nina Sarkima.
Nina Sarkima (b. 1965) is a artist working in Espoo, Finland.
Sarkima paints in delicate, translucent layers, often using an almost watercolor-like technique. She works with acrylic, tempera, and oil paints, both individually and in combination. In her practice, she seeks to express sensitivity by remaining open to what genuinely wants to emerge. Her paintings are like fleeting glimpses of another reality, created quickly through an intuitive process.
Alongside her own artistic practice, Sarkima also works as a part-time instructor in digital art as well as drawing and painting at Espoo and Kauniainen Schools of Visual Arts. Her works are included in public collections and numerous private collections.
